Laser Acne and Redness Reduction in Rochester, NY
We have created a custom treatment plan for our clients who suffer from acne. Our acne treatment program involves a combination of chemical peels, YAG laser treatment, dermaplaning, LED blue light therapy, dermal infused salicylic/mandelic acid and product recommendations. These treatments will be spaced out every 2-4 weeks and may be altered based on the clients specific acne severity. Unfortunately there is not a quick fix for acne, treatment takes time. With our custom treatment path and recommendations you will be on the road to clear skin in as little as 3-4 months! Below you will find information as to why each combined therapy combats acne at the dermal level.
How do chemical peels clear up acne?
The right peel can end acne and soften the scars that come with it. Salicylic acid peels and Jessner's peels (equal parts salicylic acid, lactic acid, and resorcinol, an antiseptic exfoliant) dive deep into skin to unclog pores while also skimming the surface to erode blackheads and fade post-pimple marks. Chemical peels are a strong form of chemical exfoliation which cause a controlled injury to surface skin cells. After the skin is injured, it will peel off and new cells will replace the old ones. Stronger peels will cause a deeper injury and thus require more downtime to heal. Since brand new cells replace the old, expect the skin to look more even, glowy, and fresh. To read more frequently asked questions on chemical peels visit our “chemical peel” tab.
How does the YAG laser help clear up acne?
Laser acne treatment helps to reduce acne in two distinct ways. The first benefit of Laser acne treatment is the destruction of the Bacteria that causes inflammation and acne breakouts. Bacteria can cause acne when it gets clogged in a hair follicle without oxygen. Laser acne therapy aims to penetrate the clogged follicle, bringing in oxygen, destroying the bacteria. The second way laser acne treatments help to reduce acne is by heating your sebaceous gland (the gland that produces your skin’s oil.) When the oil gland is heated, it shrinks and produces less oil. Our YAG acne laser treatment is completely painless.
How does dermaplaing clear up acne?
First, it reduces bacteria on the surface of your skin. Bacteria and vellus hair = breakouts. By removing dead skin cells and vellus hair, dermaplaning will unclog your pores and eliminate a leading cause of acne. Second, you'll get more effective results from your acne products. If your acne is cystic and severe we may need to replace this step with another chemical peel and provide derma planing once your acne has lessened (this will be discussed at your first chemical peel appointment).
How does LED Blue light Clear up acne?
Blue light has been shown to penetrate the skin’s hair follicles and pores which harbor bacteria and can cause inflammation, and therefore acne. Bacteria are very sensitive to the blue light spectrum it shuts down their metabolism and kills them.
How does dermal infusion clear up acne?
Our JetPeel machine infuses deep into the dermal layer where acne bacteria resides, our acne serum with salicylic/ mandelic acid will help to regulate sebum production, unclog pores, and reduce inflammation.
