What Makes the CoolPeel Different?

CO2 lasers are the gold standard in treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes as well as tighten skin and balance tone. Damaged skin tissue is removed, or ablated, stimulating new collagen production and heat energy is delivered to tighten the skin. Sounds great but CO2 treatments are often accompanied by considerable downtime and risk while damaged skin heals.

Many advances have been made to improve the side effects of CO2 treatments but ONLY the CoolPeel can deliver a fractional ablative treatment without the downtime. There is minimal risk of hyperpigmentation, demarcation or induced infection.

Pre-Treatment:

• Do not go tanning in a tanning bed 2 weeks before your treatment.

• Avoid extended sun exposure 10 days prior to your treatment. If you have a "fresh tan," or a sun burn, you will need to come back at another time to ensure a safe treatment.

• Delay the use of Retin-A, Renova, Differing, Tazorac, Avage, Epiduo, Ziana, and high percentage alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and beta hydroxy acid (BHA) products for approximately 5 days before treatment. Consult your physician before temporarily discontinuing the use of any prescription medications.

What is the aftercare/downtime like?

There will be a small degree of redness (reminiscent of a sunburn) in the treatment area after the session, but this will only last for about 12 hours. After the treatment, the skin will be dry, so make sure to moisturize well for around one week. Sun exposure must be avoided. Do not apply makeup for a day or two. After this time has passed, mineral makeup may be applied. Your skin will be completely healed within 5-7 days. You will be given a Post Procedure Kit which contains a full size Elta MD Oil in Gel Cleanser, Skin Recovery Serum and Skin Recovery Light Moisturizer.

How many treatments do I need and how often can the treatments be repeated?

Although you will see results after just one Cool-Peel treatment, a series of three treatments is recommended for optimal results. The Cool-Peel can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks as needed. The number of treatments needed depends on individual cases.
